| I installed a new Bushmaster complete lower parts kit on my new Colt lower. When I put my used complete barreled upper on it, the bolt would not close but half way. WHAT DID I DO WRONG????? Everything seems to be put together correctly. All I can figure is the bolt release may need to be ground a little on top. (this is my first attempt at building a stripped lower). |

I read all of the threads listed and examined the parts of my newly built Colt Tactical Carbine LE lower and older Colt 6721 upper a little closer. It appears that the firing pin has been dragging on the edge of the hammer notch. The firing pin has the larger diameter spool so I switched it out with one with the smaller diameter spool and it didn't make any difference. It continued to hang up. I then put one of my Bushmaster uppers with a shrouded bolt carrier on the Colt lower and it worked flawlessly. I guess I'll replace the older Colt bolt carrier with a new shrouded one.
