Can you point a rookie in the right direction? I looking for the best book(s) that cover assembly and disassembly of a AR.

Without an investment in some specialty tools, "assembly and disassembly" of the upper receiver/barrel assembly is a little complicated, and rarely neccessary. For everything else, print this;
