Howdy,

I was thinking of getting one of the Fulton Armory Free Float tubes that fits under the regular handguards.  But I have a couple of questions.

1)  It says it comes with a gas tube on their website, is this a special gas tube or something?  Will a "regular" tube not fit?

and

2) How does this go on the receiver?  Do I just take off the barrek, screw this on, then screw the barrel back on?  Or does the gas block/front sight need to be removed, this slid over it and screwed into ther receiver and then the gasblock/front sight replaced?

Thanks,

I just put one of these on, so here it goes.
1. The gas tube that they send you is modified because of the differance in the handgaurd caps. On the float tube the cap is part of the float tube.
2. The float tube is a two piece design, the tube, and a barrel nut that is treaded to accept the tube. You will have to remove the flash hider (if so equipped) the front sight, and the barrel. Just reinstall in reverse order useing the barrel nut that they supply. You will also have to modify the front of the handguards and remove the heatshields.
It is explained in the directions that they send with the float tube.
A die grinder works good for modifing the handguards, just take it easy.
