I have (2) lowers I am trying to finish. One is a Mega and the other is a Tromix. The kits I have are from DPMS. The takedonw pin will not go into the holes of the lower, either lower. I thought the pins were out of spec, so I ordered (2) and got them yesterday. They don't fit either. They just fit when inserting from right to left, and will not start if I wanted to go from left to right. What is the best way to either take down the diameter of the pins or open the holes in the lower. All of the pins I have fit fine in the uppers I have. Thanks. eagle308us

I'm not 100% sure I understand your problem. You say that the pins go in from right to left OK. If you're talking about the big pins at the front and rear of the reciever, that's how they're supposed to go in, so why would you want to put them in any other way?

On the other hand, if you're writing about the hammer and/or trigger pins, if they go in one way, they should go in either way

You might want to give us a more complete description of just what you're having a problem with.[:D]

Damn. I know what I wanted to say, but it never happens that way.

The takedown pin, the big pin as you say, will start when inserting it into the receiver, but will not go all the way through. It seems that either the holes in the lower are small or the pins are a bit oversized. Both lowers act the same. That is why I got (2) new pins. The front pivot pin went in fine in both lowers. I had no problems with any of the pins in either lower, just the rear take down pin.

I hope that is a little more clear.

Obtain a "chucking reamer" in the correct size and carefully ream the holes to size.  That is, unless the things are new and a warranty applies.

Almost.  [:D]

Is this happening with or without the upper in place?

I just finished my first build and i had a problem with not being able to fully seat the rear upper to push the takedown pin in.What i did wrong was i threaded my  stock in one turn too many and it was hitting the back of the carrier.Took a few minutes to figure out.
