I have a upper with a Wilson Tact brake on it that I want to remove. I think it is a Wilson install but can see no weld or pin hole. Bought upper at a pawn shop so unsure. It will not turn with out high amount of pressure. I think they weld over pin hole but should it be on top or bottom of brake? Can I grind down and then drill out pin and unscrew brake?
Yes I do have a pre-ban lower to put it on. The reason I bought it was it had a fluted Bushmaster barrel. Any Help?

It's usually on the bottom, but it's hard to say. It may be soldered on.

Steve @ ADCO could do it for you.

Removal 101--- grind carefully almost to the threads, slight twist and front will seperate from rear, light heat the rear, use pair of "grips", unscrew rear....This was a 5.5 on a Bushmaster, never did see the pins, just the 2 holes in the threaded area.

Thanks for the tips but has anyone removed a Wilson Brake. I want to no location of pin before I start grinding. I have looked under very good light and can see no weld over or touch up of finish. I guess I can grind some on all sides and look for the pin.
Help?
