| I am about to build my first ar-15. I am choosing between a stripped eagle arms lower of a LRM arms (www.lrbarms.com) stripped lower receiver. I know eagle arms has more name recognition but word has it is that LRM arms builds lowers and uppers for the U.S. military and are of wonderful quality. You can also get sequential serial number from this company. If anyone can give me some feedback of usful information on this on this issue, please let me know asap. The receiver of choice will be fitted on a j&t distributing c.a.r. (a-2) parts kit with attached muzzle brake. |

I have Eagle Arms and Rock River Arms. Both are good I would go with RRA because I like the finish better and $$$ for me. I would go with a good brand name lower because it will be there forever. If you buy and off name(and I have) if you get something with not to spec measurements your stuck. Not much customer support. Lowers last forever almost so pick something good. my $.02 |

I just picked up a Double Star receiver that the man told me was made by JVP, which he claims also makes Colt's lowers. I got it from Lone Star Wholesale. He said that it was a new company, but that he only sold forged receivers (he said never buy cast) and that they were all built to mil-spec in case they were called into service in war times, so that brand name didn't matter. I put the parts kit in it and I'm quite satisfied, although it does seem to be easily scratched. Has anyone ever heard of this company or have any info on their receivers? Thanks! BTW, I *did* check to make sure that it was forged, and it appears to be according to the description I read off of the Olympic Arms paige. Howerver, the does appear to be a weld or some sort of rough seam in the trigger guard right above the trigger. Is this normal? |
