I have finally made up my mind to assemble a complete lower myself.

I would like to know who has the best deal on
lowers at this time?

If i remember correctly there was an area on the site that had assembly instructions for lowers.  Can some one direct me to the location of where this is?  I have looked in all the places that i could think of.

I would also like some direction on who has the best uppers on the market.  I would like to have a crome lined barrel/chamber and with a mil-spec chamber.

Any help would be greatly appericated.

Rock River Arms www.rockriverarms.com seems to be the hot builder right now of parts and entire weapons. Check with Pete-in-NH  he seems to have the best prices. You can find his posts in the EE (equipment exchange)

Good luck

Thanks for the information.  I will look Pete-in-NH to get the parts that are needed to assemble the lower.  Also will talk to him about an upper when the time comes.

Thanks for the links.  I was able to get the Rock River link to work but was unable to get to the information on the other link.

I may be doing something wrong.  Could you check it for me.

Thanks  Batchman

There are forged Olympic lowers in shotgun news for $89.95.  That's the best deal I've seen.

That is a good price but there have been cracking problens with forged lowers. Actually the machined ones are very good.

I always thought that forged lowers were better than the cast ones.  Never heard of a machined lower.  Where can i look at one?

Still trying to find instructions on how to assemble the lower.  Not having any luck with the link for old ar15.com.  Any one have any instructions or a place where i can get them.

Thanks  for all of the replys.

The old.ar15 site seems to be down right now. Maybe due to the server upgrades going on.

I bought a manual from Bushmaster www.bushmaster.com I found this to be much easier to take into the bathroom than my PC. href=www.bushmaster.com/shopping/gunsmith/technical_manuals.asp

They also have a video but I haven't seen it yet.

Hope this helps until the old.ar15 site omes back.

Hey Batchman

Sorry about the old link not working . I'm guessing it has something to do with what was changed over the weekend . I know it did work when I posted it ( I checked it just to make sure) I checked some other sites but they all use the link I give you as a reference also.

Give this one a look over and see if it helps you any.

Thanks for all of the help.  The main reason that i like this site so much is all of the information that is avaliable here.

You guys are great.

I will keep you posted on my progress.  I hope to get the lower purchased before the Thanksgiving holiday.
