I just got the last of the parts for my AR-15, and have a stuipd question. Do I have to clean/lube the upper? I purchased the complete upper from Bushmaster, and it seems well lubed (smells like Breakfree CLP).

Thanks

I would clean it.  Run some patches through the barrel.  Clean and lube bolt.  Many times guns come greased up for storage, not necessarily ready to shoot.

I agree....whenever you get a new gun, whether its a rifle or pistol, its a good idea to clean and lub it real good.  Run some patches thru the barrel and clean  then lube the bolt and carrier real good with some clp. And don't forget to lube those lugs on the barrel extension too.
