Posted this in GD but I figured I'd get a more focused response in here.

I've used an old 6P LED in a LT mount for a long time, but this thing has caught my eye. I like the price point a little better than the larger SF lights, and the smaller profile. What say y'all - good choice for an all-around weapon light? Also, how good is the mount? Worth upgrading to a Gear Sector mount for it?

Got one among many others.  It is a great light.  Powerful, small, and lightweight.  I like the HSP thorntail mounts.

Gear sector is a great mount. It provides an offset.
M300B is a great thrower with adequate spill, but if rail space is not a concern, the M600U is only about 1 oz heavier.

I can buy the m300b for $232 or the M600U for $270. $38 would not dictate my decision.

I have both. Not much advantage to the 300b over the 600u. It's an ounce difference. I don't know what I am going to use the 300b on now, maybe the wife's gun.

I heard some talk on forums that a 300 lumen one would be coming out soon.

Probably just static from the recent release of a 300 lumen single cell E series light but who knows.
