So I this light for Christmas from the girlfriend.  It's my first high end light and also my first weapon light. I've already ordered a Gear Sector offset mount. Is there anything I need to know about these lights? Is there a better switching system for it then the momentary switch that comes in the package?

You should have got a click tail cap, and a momentary pressure switch with 7" lead.  Either of these options are the best available, use whichever meets your application best.  I have a M600U in a GearSector mount on my M4A1 clone build and love it.

OK thanks.  I really like the thought of the offset mount and the gear mount ma tech up nicely with the tango down rail covers I run so that was a no brainer. Thinking about ordering the tango down cut out rail cover for the tape switch

I also have the TangoDown MK46 vertical grip on another rifle with the tape switch inserted into the grip.  Works well.  This one with a Haley IWC mount instead of the GearSector.

For the M600U I would use there SR07 momentary/constant on pressure switch.

I prefer the SR07 and a Thorntail mount.

You are going to get powder smoke on the lens

Yep, the SR-xx series of switches that mount directly to a picatinny rail are where it's at...unless you want to mount it on a vertical grip

I run tango down covers and Gear sector hand stops and soon to be mounts because they line up perfectly and give me excellent heat shielding. I was thinking more alone these lines. Rail panel

Anybody using these?

Imo you can still run covers since your SR07 switch is best mounted at 12 o'clock, but those work too. Just keep in mind you only get momentary on.

Yeah if you want to use the switch at 3 or 9 o'clock those will work fine. If you want the switch at 12 o'clock on rail I would get an SR switch.

I already have one of those panels on order. I'll probably order the sr07 switch as well. I'm the type that likes to try everything myself to see what I like the best. I have a drawer FULL of rail covers , panels and ladders. It took some time to work out what works for me and I'm really hoping to smoothly integrate this lighting system as streamline as possible. I'll report back here with some pics when I get it sorted. Should be a pretty nice setup.
