Hello everybody. I'm in the market for a new light mount. I've recently purchased a Surefire 600c light.
I've searched all over the website, and various sites for the HSP Dropwing mount. I've seen some problems with the mount with Troy/Vtac Alpha rails. Some pictures fit flush, while others tend to angle the light up when mounted. there is this gentleman with the stated problem Dropwing problem Then there is mr. haleys rifle without the cant. Flush Does anyone happen to have a picture of their Dropwing mount on the Troy Alpha VTAC handrail? I would greatly appreciate it. I wouldn't want to purchase a product and have to return it :/ |

That thread has all your answers, and from reading from it that is normal with the dropwing. If it bothers you then look into the thorntail mount from HSP/IWC. ETA: On Haleys gun its a bad angle and you that is why there looks to be no cant. Thank you. Very much appreciated. |
| The cant can be accounted for with a couple of small washers between the mount and the rail. I have the same setup on two rifles (one with a Samson Evo and another on an Apex Machine rail). I picked up a bag of small brass washers at Home Depot and they deform to match the contour of the rail / mount when tightened down. This pretty much eliminates the cant to a virtually unnoticeable level. |

It's machined with a full radius on both sides so it lies flush against the Handguard, unlike DROPWING. It can be mounted to hang over the front of the Handguard or not. MOUNT-N-SLOT |
