Hi,
Recently I began working on a rifle project with a Surefire X300 Ultra mounted at the 12 o'clock position to retain the inherent ambidextrous advantages. The light weight along with keeping the rifle balanced has been rather nice. I lowered the lights position on the 12 o'clock rail with the use of a Mossie Tactical MT2400TRN mount as shown here: 
I would love to add a XT07 tailcap to the unit to add the SR07 rail mounted tape switch to the top rail further to the rear to compliment the momentary/constant on settings on the weapon light itself. The only issue is I simply do not have the clearance. 
As you can see, the XT07 extends rearward pretty far... During my searching of the internet for solutions, I ran across this: 
This would be absolutely perfect. From what I read, Surefire made it for a military unit several years ago. I assume before the XT07 tail cap was available. Would anyone know of a company who'd be willing to do this kind of modification? Perhaps one of our illustrious site sponsors? Or has anyone done the job themselves and opened up a tail cap? |
