so here lately ive noticed my M951 does this to batteries. is this something normal or something i should be worried about? it only does it to the one closes to the head of the light, i swapped them out when i noticed the first one to see if it would do it again and it did

Does it happen with other battery brands (anything made the USA, for example SureFire SF123A, or Duracell DL123A batteries) ?

Im not sure these are all i have used, they are made in the USA though.

Perhaps try a different brand. I'm puzzled but it could be those Energizers are slightly different dimensions. It looks like they're rotating as well...

Wow. I have two M951s and I have never seen that before. Granted I do only use the Surefire 123s because I get them through a P.O. at work. Try the Surefires and and see what happens.

took these of the inside of the light, i can see what is making the markings on the batteries

Are you using the P60 drop in?

I would make sure both the collar and bezel are tightened as much as possible.  I've never seen this issue...  If it continues I would hit the abrasing area with a dremel to sand it down a bit and that would probably fix your problem.

Yeah its still has the standard p60 bulb in for now.despite the damage to the battery it seems to still function.
