You have an 'original' with a push-in snap-fit Lexan window. That's one old WeaponLight! May even be worth something to a collector (no idea what though).
I've never managed to pop one of those out without seriously marking the inside of the window, and I've only tried it with an old-school Millennium TurboHead which was designed the same. (you use a stiff rod through the Lamp Assembly 'port' in the reflector and with a swift, forceful motion force the window out the front). SureFire never intended users to do this though. You risk ruining the reflector as well as the window (there is no replacement for either component). I strongly suggest you simply buy an alternative bezel for your aftermarket LED, or a whole dedicated LED bezel. |

I have several M500s on my training and defensive carbines, and over the years they have become my preferred white light.
That said, the lack of viable LED upgrade path almost caused me to begin abandoning them. However, site sponsor TNVC released their TX-4 LED upgrade as a drop-in replacement for the M500-no adapters needed. I've been unable to locate an LED light tower that works as a direct replacement for the MN-10 incandescent bulb-the two firms that used to make them no longer do so to my knowledge. If you find a source, please let us know These days, I have several M500s with upgraded TX-4 LED bezels and like them a lot. Good luck! ETA: One of my M511 rifle-length forends used to use that bezel-I bought it new in 1998 or so. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
