Any of you have one??? I have one says it was made in 2005 that has a few issues... 1 it will not hold zero... Put it a rifle, make sure its tight and NO moment, rifle on a bench rest or sled, its all over the place... 2. Some times it will not stay on... Fresh battery, contacts cleaned, set to constant (not Momentary) fire 4-5 times, it goes off, fire a few more, It might come back on, rinse and repeat ... 3. (this one might be me) Not sure if the dot that it projects is supposed to be a dot or something else... Its almost like 3-4 dots stacked on top of each other touching so it looks like one big elipse... Looks kinda like this | I really like this thing as its looks like its made well and is pretty bright as far as red laser go, but its not dependable at this point... |

Number 3 is normal, and why I got rid of mine, so says the Laser Devices tech I spoke with. 1 and 2 you need to call them about. |

Does it remind you of any of these? http://laserpointerforums.com/attachments/f45/18127-strange-tem-mode-my-x125-tem_modes.jpg A high-quality green laser is almost always TEM00, occasionally going into TEM10 during temperature stress. Nope, none of those... What the heck does this mean to me??? ––->> A high-quality green laser is almost always TEM00, occasionally going into TEM10 during temperature stress??? I'll try and take a pic of it tomorow after the festives with the Family and what not... From what I know and have seen, I'd rather have the same model laser I have (in working order) in Green than red, if they made it and if it was affordable... I think I paid like 550.00 or so for the one I got a few years ago... I bet total time on it is less than 30 minutes... So I don't see myself spending another 500+ bucks at this point... |

Fresh battery, contacts cleaned, set to constant (not Momentary) fire 4-5 times, it goes off, fire a few more, It might come back on, rinse and repeat ...see above as it would cause the same. 3. Looks kinda like this | sounds like it not culminated correct I really like this thing as its looks like its made well and is pretty bright as far as red laser go, but its not dependable at this point... I have never taken apart a LDI product to see how the module sits or how you could culminate it. It may have a slot for a screwdriver on the front of the module to culminate it. If you any good with fixing stuff try to get in it and look most lasers are easy and self explanatory. Or call LDI and see what they say. |

The TEMs are shown in the picture. Basically, a good laser should always be a single dot, never multiple dots. A picture would help. |

I pointed the laser at the wall, but no matter what I did I could not get a pic that actually looked like what I see, so I put a sheet of paper up on the wall, pointed the laser at the paper then (roughly) traced the red dot on it, then took a pic... ![]() Well the picture make it look a tad bigger and wider than it is but that's pretty much what I get at 10 feet or 25 yards or more.... |

Quoted: Hmm... That's probably just a poorly focused lens. This is a red OTAL, right? Does it say 635nm or something else on the laser warning sticker? I think the 635nm diodes are kind of hard to focus. Yep LDI OTAL... Visible Red Pointer: 635nm Not sure how you would adjust it... Looks pretty sealed up and solid except for the battery port. http://www.laserdevices.com/index.cfm/p-ITAL_OTAL_Classic_7.htm |

Most laser diodes emit a rectangular pattern. Correcting this to a perfect circle is no easy task. I have an early OTAL that looks the same. Your OTAL should not turn off during use. Sounds like a bad switch, or poor battery connection. OTAL's are well known for holding zero. There are two set screws (the adjustment knobs) and a counter spring to keep the tube aligned. Chinese knockoffs are well known for being pieces of crap. See if yours is authentic. |

I'm going to try and test it some more soon as I can get back to the range and then call LDI see what tey say. I'd live to send it in and get it retro-fitted with a green Laser... I know thats not happening and I'd have to buyg a whole new unit... Which is about 3-400 more than the red... |

Mine is dated January 1 2005 (bought new), has always worked flawlessly, and has the slightly elongated dot as well. Here it is on a LMT MRP from years ago. http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/ab302/sniper907/MRPTA31F.jpg That, sir, is an awesome rifle... Good to know that the rectangular dots are normal. |
