I have had issues with mounting the remote switch on my vertical grip (Troy - which i really like but it doesn't have a dedicated slot for the light tape switch). First, the velcro just does not seem to hold a solid interface between the switch and the grip. Second, when I left it in my car the adhesive on the velcro melted and slid out of position. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone no a good way to fix it. Thanks

| Haha yea that wouldn't be a terrible idea...thinking about going to that but i like the remote switch. i don't want constant on bc i feel like a flashlight is kinda a "here i am, shoot me beacon" so if i could flash it where i need it and move on without it where i don't with out having to reach up a click it every time but if i can't get another method to work i really might have to do it. it would be the obvious solution. |

Quoted: Just switch the tailcap on your light for a push button one with momentary on. Then align the light so when holding the vertical grip you can use your thumb to work the light tailcap. NO need for a switch. http://www.rainEierarms.com/img/shop/product/4260cf2571247603bbed05f50b274b06.jpg Exactly, pressure switches are for Tom Clancy novels. Keep it simple man just use the push button. |

Keep it simple man just use the push button. My challenge is that I grip VERY far forward on the weapon and don't use a vertical grip. Even an offset mount would darn near have to be on the BARREL for me to be able to manipulate a tail clicker without throwing my aim off. I looked at using my pistol's TLR-2 with a bayonet lug mount (!), but in the end, I went with the mini-scout and a tape switch. So far I haven't found a mount point that does not alter my grip or aim. |

LaRue offers an excellent wire management system. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p303/jplynch87/IMG_2043.jpg that mounting for your switch is epic! That is preferably how I would like to mount mine! not sure if it will work since i have a DD omega x rail. are those the same index clips that come in larues standard kit? |

I run the SureFire SR07 switch with my M951. It attaches to the Picatinny rail and does away with the hokey Velcro and glue. It also has a momentary on pad as well as a constant on pushbutton. It does cost a bit more ($80) but IMO it's worth every penny!

Very comfortable and easiest to use. Now I just mount the x300 up top, but if I still had a scout, I would definitely be using the SRxx switch. |

Get rid of Velcro.
Go to electronics store and get a large diameter piece of shrink tube. Large enough to slip over vertical grip and momentary tape switch. Apply heat and it will form around grip contour and switch. No glue, no goo, solvent friendly and if you don't like it, just cut it off. Kind of like the bicycle inner tube concept but better. |
