I purchased a new Surefire KM2 replacement head about two months ago to replace the head on my scout light. It has worked flawlessly with no hard use. Last weekend while showing some folks the light out put in the basement the light begin to flicker/strobe. After a few minutes it dropped to a very low light out put. My first thought was that the batteries were low so I pulled a new set out of my E2D only to find the same result. I then went to my stash of new batteries and tried three different sets only again to find the same results. Because my stash was a few years old I then a purchased a brand new set again to find only the same result. When putting the old head back on the light output was back to normal. Any thoughts are ideas would be greatly appreciated before taking the long road of warranty repair.

I have never had to deal with Surefire personally, but I have heard numerous accounts of people sending them an email about a problem and Surefire fixing the problem immediately, sometimes without return of the defective product.
Try sending them an email saying what you just said in your post. |

Just so happens I get a brand new V2 with the KM3 head today via brown truck
Same similar issue with flicker/strobe going from low to high on white light IR works only on low I called and tech did not seemed surprised WTF Yes, they will pay to ship it back but only with a call ticket, which means someone has to be home when the brown truck rolls up. Over $300.00..shit happens I realize but no offer to ship a new head/tailcap or replacement etc.. their CS is overrated imo...fwiw I /hadhave plenty of SF product, needed the IR for this app, will be looking at alternatives down the road |
