I am building a bumper for my rig and thought it would sweet to have an IR headlight integrated into it with the other lights.
Anyone know a source for them?
I have a buddy that just picked up a mid 80's Blazer that has them so I know they are around, I haven't tried it with my 14's to see how well they work, yet.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,

Most simply use a normal bulb and an IR filter, and you can get IR light cover kits (which are costly) from many places online.

They are cheap and easy to mount, run off 12v and they worked quite well for him, though he wanted less of a spotlight so used some frosted perspex in front of them IIRC.

Apparently it worked pretty well and he posted some pics of them in use to another forum with visibility out at least as far as what I'd expect from headlights. It was quite an even light too, judging from the images.

Anyway, I believe the person who did it is on this forum as well, so maybe he'll spot this thread and comment himself.

Regards

David

I need a couple of those for our home CCTV system.  I have the B&W/IR Cameras so a spot like that would light up the front and back yards up nicely
