Hi everyone,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I am looking for a laser to put on my AR. Could be red, could be green. I like the Lasermax Uni, but don't really know what the quality of Lasermax is. I like the lower profile of the Lasermax. I know a laser/light combo like a Surefire would be best, but I really want a lower profile. I don't really like the forgrip laser/lights like the Crimson Trace. Any ideas? Thanks everyone! |

Lasermax is good quality. I prefer the M6X, light and laser. Very nice, very expensive. Watch EE as I picked one up for $180 and another (handgun only) for $130. E: Typo |

If you plan on using it anytime that's not pitch black, I would go with green and find a model that runs on standard batteries (like CR123) instead of the small Lasermax unit, unless you're limited on space. With the Uni, you have to remove the laser from the gun to replace the battery, which doesn't really last that long, especially in green... |

Well, I didn't want to break the bank. I have seen some (military issue) for over $700. That is too steep for my blood. I was thinking more for fun use which means it wouldn't get used much. I doubt I would ever need to use it for home defense as the AR would be the last weapon I grabbed (Glock first, then 870 and if all hell was breaking loose then AR). I won't be doing any patrols, well unless the zombies come... I just thought it would be fun to have a laser, dial it in and then be able to do some precision shooting with friends. Besides it looks cool in the dark! |
