I have an E2D that I woul like to mount to my AR-15 at about the 10:30 position.
I've looked at: Gear Sector Larue VTAC Danger Close The larue costs alot of money, if it didn't I would choose it. The VTAC looks bulky, I'm not sure how well it would work with the insert an an E2D, I haven't been able to find much info on that configuration. I like the price though. I'm not sure I like the set screw on the Danger Close mount, I haven't been able to get their website to load either. I guess for all those reasons I'm leaning towards the Gear sector mount, its a little pricey but looks fairly streamline and fits my criteria, how sturdy are they? |

Rock solid. We did extensive destructive testing and in all cases the lights failed long before the mounts. |

I like the fact that you can get the light mounted far forward, however, I wish the ring was toward the front while mounted on the left side of the rifle. Will placing the mount on the top rail, put the light in about the same position as being mounted on the left side? |

Yes. The only shift in placement will be due to the cross section of the rail system itself. All rail systems vary in width. Thanks. That makes sense. I'm running DD lite rails which are taller than they are wide. I guess I'll just have to try it out and see. |
