So I just bought my M961 off ebay (I know, the guy has sold a bunch though and has all good reviews). The light looks good, had a registration card of sorts, and the batteries had a date code on them, so I am fairly confidant it is legit.
My issue is, when I screw the tailcap on, the light comes on. I figured no biggie, just press the tailcap button to turn off. Um, no. Tailcap button does nothing, tape switch does nothing. Any ideas before I call Surefire and maybe look stupid? ETA- Son of a b$56h! Bad tape switch. Unplugged the tape switch and it works like a charm. tape switch back in=fail. Guess I'm calling surefire. |

Call them, they will have you troubleshoot it on the phone to determine what is wrong. Then tell you to send it with a RRA number. I bought a 951 at a gun show a few months ago, it was still sealed in the factory bag. One of the batteries leaked and ruined the tailcap. It took about 7 days until I had a new one. |
