Looking at buying a G2 LED for my M&P15 to be mounted in an VLTOR scout mount.

How does the G2 perform as far as:

Brightness and range of beam
Shock resistance
Run time

I just want it for general home defense and to have a light on my rifle without spending a fortune.

Any input is appreciated, I'm about to order one.

Thanks!

Check out the Malkoff M60 drop in. Brighter than Surefires LED for the G2.

Its 80 lums is just about perfect for indoors. Runtime is several hours at full power.  GTG

+1 I've dropped mine all over the damn place without issue and it works well on my 870.  I'm really liking the LED lights.  I picked up a 6P Defender LED for one of my ARs too.

I am an industrial maintenance man and use my G2 many times each day.  Nicely pocket sized, bright and rugged.  Good battery life and a fine beam spread for work.  Has been dropped many times on concrete and keeps working.

I've carried my stock G2LED, and I've run it on my carbine, midlength and CX4 storm. It's still running strong.

Be sure when you order the G2L that you get one of the newer ones with the aluminum bezel. It'll hold heat better and is a little more rugged.
