Until I get around to buying a railed handguard for my carbine I'm thinking of getting one of these bolt on rails so I can use the light mount I already have.  I see one from YHM and a couple other companies.  Anybody have experience with these and if so , how do you like them?

That's exactly what I've got on my 6920.

The close up pic is below, I got mine from Brownells, it works as advertised, holds my scout light.

I have no intention of putting railed handguards on this one, the small amount or rail does exactly what I need.

I'm running the same setup.  I don't look at it as a temporary setup until I get a rail, I look at it as a permanent solution.  I have had several different rail systems and I went back to plastic hand guards on my go to gun.

Hey CT, as a person who put pictures of the Colt building top, in a previous thread, and as a resident of Conn, I expected to see a rampant stallion on that lower.

What's up with that?

Our fabulous CT AWB prevents me from owing a Colt "AR15" or "Sporter" which pretty much means I can't own a preban Colt rifle  There is a Colt 6920 BCG in that one though.

Oops I forgot about the draconian gun laws that New England is infamous for.

Pretty interesting serial number you have on that fine looking rifle.

Good job on the chop, or rather, I'm not attuned enough to recognize it.

Your Conn. awb or whatever the term is prevents you from owning Preban guns also?

Thanks for the info

I used a Midwest Industries mount like that for many years on my squad rifle. Worked very well, and put the light in a natural 10-11o'clock position.

Only issue I ever had with it is different lights will be affected depending on if and what lock you use.

Thanks for the input everyone.  I have to take a look at my LaRue light mount to make sure it'll work with one these.  It should but I want to be sure.

Both of those lowers are manufactured before 9.14.94 and therefore preban.  Prebans are exempt from the AWB.
