| I have seen a lot of pics where people have put two lights and a peq-2 type laser light combo, is there a reason for this redundancy or is it just aesthetics? how much is too much? Also, is it better to just use the tail cap switch or pressure switch. |

I prefer 1 light on the rifle, 1 light on the pistol that can go to my rifle if need be and a handheld with a flange or ring made use with a pistol. That is a back up for the rifle (on my hanfgun) and a back up for the pistol (the hand held). Thats plenty for me. I got a second, larger handheld for general utility and longer battery life (and rechargable battery) on my duty belt for my LE duty belt set up.
I thing 2 lights on a rifle is excessive, though a X series Surefire pistol light is very light if you had to do a 2nd light ON the rifle for reasons of paranoia. I have never had a rifle's primarly light need to be swapped out. Tape switches cause too many AD of light for me... I prefer thumb activation, and placement on the weak side of the light for a thumb activation. |
