So, between the two Surefires listed above, which is the more durable?  I realize the Scout is a better light, but which can take more abuse?

Theya re both made of the same material and anodized the same. The Scout is LED. The M951 probably can take the P60L. I would guess that the physical lights are equal in durability. The LED head are more shock resistant than incadescent bulbs.

This question is almost absurd. I say ALMOST because while valid, it is like saying: "Which one would be better suited to anti-tank use, a BB-gun, or a .22?"

Well, the .22 of course. But...

The M600C is shock-proof, as it has no filament to break.
The M600C is lighter, so in the event of EXTREME G-forces being exerted on the light (think plane crashing into brick wall), the M600C will endure less pressure.

Ummm...what else is there...

See what I mean about the question? You can beat the shit out of both lights and they will come back for more...except for the filament. The M600C wins hands-down here. No filament.

Will the M951 take the P60L drop-in?

Thanks for the help, but I was able to buy a "used" but never actually used 951 for about $180.

For $40 more I would have bought an M600C build.

Yes, I understand.  You made that quite clear.  Maybe I'll bring along some candles for when my inferior light fails.

I assume a Malkoff M60 drop in would work in a 951 series?

There are people that have claimed to have done that. I can't get my m60 to fit in a 951. It looks like you would be able to file the M60 to get it to fit.
