| Does anyone know if any light visible to the human eye passes through the IR filters that Surefire sells for their lights? I see some on eBay that are rated 850 nm, but from what I can find on the internet, those allow light to pass that can be seen with the naked eye. What does Surefire rate their filters at - 940 nm? |

I thought I read that their filters are ta 850-900nm as well.
You can still see a red bulb behind the Surefire filters. Its very muted, though. If you put one up to a wall at 3ft, you will see a small "glow" with the 9v lights. Much less so with the 6v setups. I know of a few folks who have made "stacked" filters for their 9v M962 lights. Not a "bad" setup, but, likely would have been cheaper to just get an LED array. Or the M1. victor has the scoop on these... |
