Is surefire the only way to go for a weapon light. I am building a rifle and I plan on getting a weapon light and most to all that I see are surefire or fake suefires(ebay). I heard about pentagon and read on hear that they are done. Is there any other companies? I dont see the reason to spend 500.00 bucks for a flashlight that mounts on my rifle, and dont agree to paying for a name.

You get what you pay for...

You can find Surefire 951's on here in the $200 range pretty easily...

It boils down to personal preference...

I have spent several hundred dollars on numerous other lights that eventually fail...  My Surefires keep on running even after heavy use and abuse.

You can always get the Sure fire (I think it’s the G2 or something) the plastic one for $40, and get the $6 scope rings from Wal-Mart. I used this setup in Iraq back in 03 until our Sure Fires came in. the cool thing about the plastic Sure Fire is that you can get it in different colors to match the rest of your furniture.

OH YA! And check around at the surplus stores (if there is a military base around) I found some weapon mounted Sure Fires for $70 (used in harms way of course) but still tickin!

U can call sure fire and check on there turbo head conversion for the G-2, I get 200 or300 yard of light,(spot light). My other faverate is M3X from insite technologes, look at the long gun version (perssure switch) compaired to the stock G-2 , M3X is double the range. And the real kicker M3x is adjustable spot to flood!
