Has anyone ever mounted a pistol light on a carbine?

I want to keep my front end weight down, and the most likely scenario I will ever have to use my carbine in is a home invasion - I don't need to blind someone a football field away.

Would doing something like this revoke my Man-card, or get me laughed out of the forums?

Think about a Surefire G2 or cough up the man card.

The SureFire X200 and X300 are considered handgun lights, but some people find them more than adequate for short range rifle use.  For indoor use, I would use the X200B.  The beam is almost identical to the SF M600A Scout Light.  X200B's are no longer produced but they show up on the EE or even eBay.

Look through the mounted light photo thread at the top of the page.  There are several examples just on the last page.  Probably many more if you go back a few pages.
