I've got a shiny new M600 type Surefire Scout, and it's a mighty nice little light.

What I'm trying to do, though, is set it up top side, starboard, instead of directly underneath or aside.  I'm hoping to get the most available light, with the least eye-level shadow (especially from a can!  :D ) in the visibility.

There are some offset mounts that I've found, but none that are compatible with the M600's built-in rings and mount plate.

Anybody know of a kit where I can get the offset I'm looking for?

Have you consider the SureFire M76 Offset Mount?

Very interesting!

Also not on the US Surefire website, which is why I didn't see it before.  Does the swivel lock when you get it to the angle you want?

IIRC, there are set screws that tighten down on the hinge to lock the swivel in place.

Another option, although more expensive. I changed the body out on mine with an E2D body. Then you have more offset mounts to choose from. Just a thought.

How do you get just a flashlight body?

I bought mine at Candlepower forums.
