Guys, I put a TLR2 on my AR and at close range there doesn't seem to be enough elevation to get it on target. I haven't tried it at longer ranges 25 to 50 yds so I don't know if I'm trying to sight this thing in too close. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Charles |

You should be setting it further out than you currently are. Make sure you mount it on the underside of the barrel, otherwise your zero will only be good to one exact range due to elevation and windage changes associated with having a laser off the centerline of the axis. On the underside of the barrel, you will at least maintain your windage setting. I would suggest zeroing the laser to somewhere between 25 to 50 yards. Trying to shine it across the room indoors and lining it up with your iron sights is not going to work. |

Thanks guys. Lapp_Dance, that's exactly what I did and it didn't work. I have a full length quadrail and the light is almost below the muzzle brake. No problem with the windage. I was trying to beat the offset with the laser but I guess you can't get away with that. I'll try sighting in at further distances. Thanks again Charles |

It doesn't suprise me that there isn't enough adjustment to bring the laser up to point of impact at close range..On handguns the mounting is closer to the barrel center line.. How far is the laser from the center line of the barrel? I'm gonna' guess 3".. I would think it would take a few yards to bring these two lines together.. So now say at 30yds the bullet hits the laser at it's highest adjustment...that means at the closest you can get at 20yds is 1" high and at 10yds you'll be hitting 2" high...Both would be fine with me.. I am interested to know how far you have moove the target away to make it come together...Even if it's 50yds..who cares? as long as you know ..Matter of fact it would be ok with me if the laser was pointed exactly parellel to the bullet path..Then the bullet will drop into the path of the laser and you'd be hitting a little high for close work.. If you site it at close range, you'll be way off at 150yds.. |
