It's from the movie "Blood Diamond". Looks like it clamps straight to the barrel beneath the forged front end.

I love the placement of this. My upper is without rails at the moment - would like to mount my Scorpion like this without a pressure switch - keep in mind this is a low budget build.

Any suggestions appreciated. If you can ID the adapter that they are using for the Aimpoint as well to attach it to the A2 upper, bonus points for you.

Oh, and Leo needs to tuck that elbow in.

looks like a classic surefire barrel mount:
http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/co_disp/displ/prrfnbr/22978/sesent/00/Classic-Universal-Barrel-Mount-WeaponLight-Ahead-of-Front-Sight

clamps onto the barrel, then has a small railed portion for a ring mount to mount to

it looks like he just put the upper plate of the clamp onto of the gas part of the FSB.

i did something similar, just mounted it between the barrel and FSB

An Elzetta mount places the light under the FSB and costs about 30 bucks:

You can get a similar mount from DealExtreme here of Hong Kong.  Quality is kinda low, but it's only $6.62 shipped.  Takes 2-3 weeks to arrive.  I have one.  It has a weaver rail rather than standard picatinny/1913 rail, so picatinny mounts may not fit (mine don't), but it does come with a 1" weaver mount that does fit.  Loc-tite is probably a good idea; I didn't use it very long before replacing with a front-sight-base rail, so I can't say if the screws stayed tight.

But it is cheap!  You could try it out, and if you like the placement but not the quality, then get the real Surefire mount.  And if you don't like your light mounted there, you didn't have to pay the Surefire price to find out.

That's great - hell for $7 shipped if it sucks I'll throw it out. Would rather spend $300 on an Aimpoint anyway. I like the Elzetta too, but I like the idea that I don't have to mount it in line with the barrel.
