I'm getting ready to buy my first light for an ar and wanted to hear the experienced opinions of users on what ring I should buy to mount it in. Is the cheap option from calvin fine? Should I upgrade to the ggg ring? Upgrade more to the vltor ring? I imagine one does the job as well as the next but...

The GG&G ring is the same Weaver brand ring we use on most of the aluminum bodied lights such as the SF Classic systems while we use a slightly different version of a Weaver brand ring for the G2/G3 lights. As for the Vltor mounts, they work very well also. If fast detach, or easy removal of the light from the mount rhen the Vltor is a better choice. |
