I may soon be on the market for a weapon light.  I have a Colt carbine with a 6920 barrel, lo-pro gas block covered by a Troy Ind. free float rail with Troy Ind. front/rear folding irons.  This carbine is an all around type deal (SHTF, HD, possibly duty use, etc.).

The plan is to have a vertical front grip and dedicated weapon light.  I would really like to buy a Surefire 900 series combo as it is a 2 in 1 set up.  The $500+ price tag makes me hesitate considering I am just buying a vertical grip and flashlight.....

So if I don't get the Surefire 900 series, what light would be best in combination with a Tango Down vertical front grip?  Tape switch or tail cap button?  I am mostly looking for something that was designed as a weapon light.  I had a Surefire G2 at one time but I want something on the upper 1/2 of the spectrum....

I'm biased 'cuz I'm a Surefire whore.     I run Surefire 962s on all my ARs.    That combined w/ a TangoDown VFG is an awesome combo IMO.    The 962s, and even the 952s for that matter, are always on the EE.  If your timing is right you can get the 962 and TD VFG for 3 bills.   Here's my DE gun:

I have a Surefire 910 and it is a great light/grip combo.  If you check the EE you can find some good deals.  I paid $375 for mine and it was basically new.
