I just read a review of Night-Ops Gladius light... it is supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread with it's strobe function...

So, are Night-Ops anything special?

Are strobes in general anything special?

Is the Gladius anything special?

I've been tempted to get one now that you can get it upgraded with a SSC P4 LED.  There is no other light that compares with the strobe function of the Gladius/Typhoon.  The only thing that has kept my enthusiasm in check is the price.

I have gotten the chance to play around with the Gladius and I have to say I’m very impressed. Very good build quality and programmable features.  I tested out the strobe function with a buddy the other night. Basically I tried to charge him while he hit me with the strobe. Despite my best effort he simply stepped out of the way and tripped me as I went by.  Never saw it coming…very very effective, but yes expensive.

Personally I think it has every feature you could ask for except a version with integrated mount for a rifle and a tape switch option.

So, do we think it is built to hold up as a weapons-mounted light?  What mounts would be best to mount it to the quad rail forearm?

Jerry.

I'm buying one (/w mod) because I have this borderline flashlight addiction. I am sure I will love it, but it's got an uphill battle to convince me that it's worth the $$$.
