Looking at the G&W for LE  magazine  at my local CVS
I saw a Eotech with some type of green laser attached to it!

I think it was a ADD ? I forgot the Maker

The pharmist called my name  so I didnt get a real good look

Anyone know about this type of Laser?

You probably saw LDI's EOLAD.

It's not really a green laser, they just use that as a representation of IR.

More info here.

Hmm.... that actually outclasses the MARS pretty badly...  wonder how much different the price is between that, versus an EOTech with a DBAL-II

I rather run the laser on the RIGHT side of the EOTECH?

Can CIVI buy this Laser?

No, you can't buy an EOLAD as a civilian.

Why is it that CIVI`s cant buy some types of Lasers and NV

Is it because of the FEAR of Overseas RESALE

Or is it just US

You can have one, but according to the FDA it has to have safety interlocks, one of which is a remote interlock and another is a key control device.

My favorite requirement is the "emission indicator", basically something you can see or hear before the device is activated so that folks nearby can clear the area if they want to.  If you want a device to do the same thing as a PEQ-2 it's gonna end up the size of a fuggin house because of all the crap you have to add to it in order to meet FDA safety standards.

Ready for the punchline?
The military and "folks that are deemed worthy through training" (typically LEO and .gov organizations) may use devices that are exempt from these requirements.

That's not the part you're going to complain about though... this is:  The FDA has no formal standard for who is trained and who is not, so no... you may never work towards a permission to use exempt devices.

They put it on the side opposite of the ejection port.
