| Anyone have one? What do you think about it? Would you buy it again? |
| I bought one for my ar15 last week. I attached it with an offset mount and can completely maipulate the dial with my thumb. Everyone at the PD is amazed at the light and wants one. Several buddies ordered one the day they saw mine. I just ordered another with the holder to use on my duty belt (yes, I am a cop). The strobe function is so fast that a target/person remains illumininated from the shooters perspective. HOWEVER, the person on the receiving end of the strobe is completely blinded and disoriented. The ability to decrease the light output on the constant setting allows you to use the light for navigation, but it you need to quickly engage one press of the tailcap will immediately put the light into strobe or momentary at full power (the light allows you to preset which one you want). No, I do not work for or sell the light, jsut have not been this impressed with a light. |
| Now is the time to get a Gladius with all these low prices that are being found. I have had one for almost two years and I recomend them to everyone. If you get one, you will be glad that you did. For a weapon light, they really shine, especially if you have a vertical grip. No real need for a tape switch for a Gladius either. The button is about 1000 times easier to activate on the Gladius than the Surefire products. Plus if you get a Gladius you are buying a product from one great individual named Ken Good. He is a first class guy that really wants you to have the best tool possible for the job. |

Awsome TOOL. I tested it on a filthy drunk illegal and the strobe made him puke all over his own legs. I sent one to my Marine outside Camp Fallujah last year and he said it gave him an edge. He told me all his Marines then had to have one. I have had one problem with mine, when new. Just once. I was giving a "demonstration" to a trooper who was interested and as I went trough the features and functions. It went dead! Just stopped working. Dead. I had maybe 15 minutes total runtime on it too (I had just got it and was showing it off). I was pissed and somewhat embarassed since it was supposed to be so great. I took the batteries out and reinstalled. It has worked fine ever since, with out any indication of a continuing problem. I emailed Blackhawk and got NO reply. I have heard of others dying as well (on this forum). Regardless, I love this thing so much! Here is what I did with mine: I ordered a surefire red pop-up lens cover and placed it on the Gladius. The lens cover clamps on tightly and flips open 270 degrees for white light. Flip down for red light and lens protection. Check it out here: Surefire FM35 RED FILTER I would buy one again, for sure. |

Just ordered one and look at the price! Couldn't believe it. I've ordered from this company before and was highly impressed with their service and prompt delivery! $119 w/free shipping! Gladius Fighting Light Can't wait to get it! |

Outstanding light quality - love the strobe feature and brightness adjustability. HOWEVER, mine too has just "gone dead" on me twice (no, not due to heat). I simply no longer trust it as my "first to grab" light. My old Surefire again has that role - but I miss the brightness adjustment immensely. I don't know if I have a lemon, or if this is just an example of the infamous Blackhawk poor quality despite a great design. |

As discussed on this forum before: We had a run of Gladius Lights that suffered from intermittent activation problems. Plain and simple, the internal flex circuit was out of spec. To address the issue we have redesigned the tailcap to eliminate tolerance stacking. If your light is not functioning perfectly, contact BlackHawk customer service: Email: [email protected] Toll Free: 800-694-5263 Let them know the color of your light, the serial number and your shipping address. A new tailcap will be shipped to you no-charge. I have made a very focused effort to ensure customers can rely on the Gladius and get any function issues dealt with. Have we been 100% in this effort? No. On the other hand we have as an organization/team are dedicated to process improvement. Repair turn around times have dramatically decreased as has the need to repair these lights in the first place. Latest generation Gladius Flashlights are very nice in my not so un-biased opinion. We have worked out many of the initial production issues on this relatively ground-breaking light. |
That's really good to hear. Of course, now I have to find my flashlight - haven't seen it since I tossed it in a duffle bag in disgust while still deployed. |

I will chime in on this one by saying I bought a Gladius last year when I worked morning watch. I have had no problems with the light, and have had it on my duty belt since it was purchased (with a spare in my gear bag). I recently participated in one of our night fire training sessions, and was totally impressed with the performance of the light during force on force drills. I got some very interesting feed back from other officers who "saw the light". Most stated they would prefer to not see it again from the front. I would recommend the light to anyone who has interest in it. |
| If you guys are haveing problems with your Gladius then please contact Blackhawk. My Gladius was one of the ones that had problems and the new tail cap fixed it. It happend just the way Ken said in the above post. I called them told them the problem. They asked what color my light was and what the serial number was. Not long after that I had a box from Blackhawk on my door step. I never had to ship anything to them. |

Even if you must ship it to Montana the turnaround time is very reasonable, maybe 2 weeks including shipment time both ways. I hated to ship mine in, but it was the OD colored "back-up" one and my primary Gladius kept me company while I waited. A piece of debris was inside the front bezel area, and the tailcap rattled like a spring was loose inside (function was 100%!). It came home in barely two weeks time...but the reflector still had a large fingerprint smudge. They missed it because it was mainly visible when looking into the light from the side while lit. So a second round trip was made. The returned light now looks as perfect as it operates, and will be EDC'd on night hikes. I love the build quality of these lights, and was also quite impressed with the 9 volt Falcata. A Gladius and Falcata make a great pair. Paladin |
+1 on the above, especially in regards to the new 9v Falcata. The 9v Falcata is well worth the $$$ as both a personal light and for weapons use. I am running one on one of my rifles and have been very impressed, the output & throw is outstanding for a 1.25" bezel. It gave me the performance I was looking for without the extra size & weight of other contenders. ![]() img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/315352/lights1632.jpg |
