Since ordering my M4 DEFENDER 2000 from LMT

Ive added a KAC RAS and a KAC FPG

Also added My Old ML2 and a Larue cantilever along with arms 40L

Now my M4 is getting HEAVY !!  might as well add more

Im thinking of a OTAL LASER

How do they compare?

Rugged

Also whats the Best zero for a Laser on a M4

Ive never owned a laser and Know Nothing about them.

I would think it would be used a Close range rather than Medium range

Thanks

The OTAL is a fantastic laser.  It is built like a tank and holds a zero well (providing you have it mounted on a stable platform).  I love mine.  If you have the scratch, pick one up and you won't be dissapointed.  I would suggest ordering it from Calvin at brightflashlights.net.  He is the man to deal with for the best prices and service when buying lights and lasers!

One other thing.  I bought the one with the ARMs mount and ended up switching the mount to a Larue Tactical #17s.  Larue mounts are much more rugged than the flimsy little throw lever on ARMS mounts.  The QD model of the OTAL sits a bit higher than the thumb screw model too.  But, you won't have any trouble seeing over it with your cantilevered aimpoint.

you honestly will not even notice the weight.  My carbine is a little on the heavy side before I bought the OTAL and I was a little concerend that the OTAL was just going to make too heavy.  I can not tell the difference when I have it mounted or not, it's that light.  I can't respond to how it holds up or how it is to use since I just got mine but just from playing around with it I can tell it is a high quality laser. It certainly could be used as a medium range laser but I bought it for CQB use.  When I zero it it will be at 20 yards or even less.

and another vote for buying it from Calvin, definetly the best guy to deal with.

Cool

Yes Calvin seems to be a very nice guy

I order a Vikeing mount for my G2 surefire !

I might use it if Punta Gorda has another Tropical Storm Like CHARLIE

20 yards seems like a good IDEA  most gun fights are even closer as I know you Know

My KAC R.A.S. seems like it Sturdy enough for use of a LASER

What type of Groups does the OTAL produce  around 25M on a M4

I do know its not for Target shooting

OTAL WEB SITE or anyplace I can get Specs and info

I've used the OTAL on a variety of weapons, but on the SBR Home Defense Gun, it's perfect.
