I just got a Surefire M951 and want to run the tape switch to my tango down vert grip with as little of the cord exposed as possible. Is it ok to run the wire under the handguard? I have a surefire m73 handguard and was thinking of running the wire through one of the "vent" holes on the side and out of the bottom of the handuard to the VG? Is this ok or will the wire melt?

I wouldn't run the wire inside the handgurard, it will prob melt.  You will have to get creative and just run it alongside the handguard.  Having that 7 inch cord doesn't make much sense.

Ditto, don't do this with the M73 as it can get very warm.  What rail covers are you using?  You're either going to have to get creative with the railcovers & zip ties or opt for a shorter t.switch.
