The OTAL either come with the thumbscrew mount or the ARMS mount. Can the thumbscrew mount be replaced with an ARMS mount? What model # ARMS mount would replace the thubscrew mount? Would it be something like the ARMS #17 or #17S? Thanks, Steve |
The OTAL thumbscrew model cannot be switched to an ARMS (or LaRue) base, LDI designed the units differently. If you have an OTAL with the ARMS 17S then you can switch to the LaRue mount. ======= Edwin, your camera work is impressive, those photos (as well as the rifles) are pristine!

BrightFlashlights, I think I misunderstood the question, you can order an OTAL with the thumbscrew mount or the ARMS #17S, and the ARMS mount can be replaced with the LT mount I know. But, you can't replace the thumbscrew mount with an ARMS or LT mount? Good to know this. I like that the thumbscrew mount has a lower profile however. Many thanks for the clarification, and I assume this is true for the other Laser Devices units also. Thanks for the compliments on the photos, but the superb Olympus E-1 DSLR makes it easy. And if yourself, or any of the other fine retailers here on AR15.com wish to use any of my photos for any purpose, please feel free to do so, it's the least I can do for all the great service I've gotten from you guys and gals over the years.
