After seeing the ridicilously priced tail-cap remote switch things, I decided I could make on for under ten dollars.

My Plan:
Drill hole in end cap for wire to pass through
Attach one end of wire to the spring
Put a piece of rubber between the spring and batteries
Attach the other piece of wire to the end of the battery
Run the wires to the switch
(My problem, is i can't find a "touch pad switch"  I want a on/off/momentary touch pad switch.  Anyone have any ideas??)

Thanks

Try going to the local dollar store and picking up a calculator. Tear into it and maybe you can fashion a pressure switch out of the button parts combined with some heat-shrink tubing. I don't know if the calculator switch will work due to the power difference, but heck...it's only a buck or two to try, huh? hmmmmmm........by the way...thanks for the idea. I may just try this myself. now...where's that soldering gun????

Calculator would be hard because I believe the switches/buttons don't act as a switch.  They just touch a circuit board when pressed.  (like your keyboard)

I think I'm just going to go to radio shack and buy a rocker switch (on/off).  Then use an old phone cord for the wire.  Fabricate some sort of mounting bracket for the switch out of velcro and some sort of metal piece.  (maybe the thing your can slip a handheld radio on in a vehicle, you know the hand part of the CB radio)  I'll try getting pics up WHEN it works.

Please tell me this for a 'range toy' and not a serious defensive arm.

but a cheap air gun laser with pressure pad. good luck , contact points and soldering are the toughest parts to making it.

Are you referring to the light or the switch?

Streamlight TL2

Tac Star makes a tape switch for lights the size of G2, 6P and also fits some Streamlight lights.  I don't know what diameter your light is but if it is similar to a G2  the Tac Star tape switch will work perfect  and it's less than $20
