I used a 6P/shock isolating bezel/KAC 1" flashlight mount for years. I used a pressure switch from one of the older 600 series classic lights.  I'm sure they can still be purchased from any Surefire dealer.

I asked this same question a while back. Their (Surefire's) response is below:

Sir,
We do not recommend the use of our hand held lights as weapons lights.  You can use an 11690-1 tail cap and an "S" series switch.  Total list price is $99.25.  If you have any further questions do not hesitate to write back or call us at 1-800-828-8809. We are dedicated to providing world-class customer service and welcome future inquiries or comments.

Buddy of mine has an ancient 6P mounted to a FIRSH by means of a cheapo scope ring. He has a pressure pad tail cap and standard head on it. So far, so good.

You may not be happy, I had a customer who wanted try one of those for a shotgun setup and the only way it'd work properly on a 6P & Classic Weaponslight is to be 2/3 unthreaded.

If that is from a TacStar flashlight, then stay the hell away from it. I have a TacStar on my Winchester 1300 Defender and it is a complete pile. For the light to come on I have to jam my hand onto the pressure pad, and even still it only works 50% of the time at best. Some days it will work, other days it will not. The curly wire is completely useless on an AR and will only get in the way. It makes sense on a pump shotgun cause it stretches with the pump. I would take the TacStar off but it makes the shotgun look so much cooler, and I rarely use the gun anyway BrightFlashlights has some good weapon-mounted 6P and G2 deals going on in the Industry forum. Check it out!

Well, no shit, they'd rather rape you for the cost of a dedicated weapon light.  FOr instance, a Surefire M2 is $168 on surefires websight  The addition of a simple thumbscrew mount increases the price to $274

A P6 on surefires websight is $54, the shock isolated bezel which will make the flashlight appropriate for weapon mounting. (which they won't sell you on their websight), is about $20.  An appropriate mount is no more that $25
