These just became available and I got a couple for testing. They use a 5W LED and it appears to be very bright and well focused. It comes with eithe a momentary/constant on push button or a 6" tape switch. They also feature an ARMS throw lever mount. I really think that LED's make an excellent choice as a weapon light due to their ability to handle shock. It is great to see a small company like Laser Devices pushing the envelope on weapon light designs.... C4 www.gandrtactical.com ![]()

Hey Al! They do have a fair amount of electronics in the lamp module and I have already done some comparison with the standard OP-6. I wil be doing some head to head comparison between it and my SF L4. From I can tell so far, it is winner! C4 |
If your interested in the Laser Devices OP-6 prices, you can go to my web site and click on the LD's tab.... C4 www.gandrtactical.com |
The beam is more focused in my opinion than the L4 because of the larger bezel. I believe that the LED is regulated. No LED will throw as far as a Xenon gas filled bulb, but then again you really can't break them either! C4 |

Grant, have you ever used the Streamlight TL3 LED light, and if so how do you think it compares with this one by Laser Devices? The TL3 LED is rated at 90 Lumens I believe, although that's probably optimistic. Edit: I don't mean as a weapon light necessarily, just in overall beam quality and shape. The LD light is obviously a better designed weaponlight. |
Jason, I have not used the TL3 so I cannot compare them (sorry)... C4 |
