I have to replace the E2E HA that I have been wearing on a lanyard around my neck at work for over a year and still managed to lose it.

It looks like the defender has some holes in the tailcap that will be easy to mount a lanyard to.  Does it have the clickie cap?  It looks bulkier, any opinions on weather it can be comfortably worn around my neck under a shirt?  It seems I read awhile back that all the new e2E's now ship with that tailcap....  Is that correct?

I am open to suggestions re other models but that E2E I had suited my needs perfectly other than I had to rig up my own lanyard system.  Please Help!  Nitrolon Back-Up Light Not Cutting It !  dg.

Yes, clicker cap.

The E2D clickie tailcap is slightly bulkier, but it is still a under 1" in diameter.  Another benefit of the tailcap is that it allows the light to stand on its end.

If some new E2e's are shipping with a clickie tailcap, it is most likely the Z57, which does not have to scalloped crown like the E2D tailcap, but is in the natural HAIII color instead of black.  HTH.

The "C" TailCap for the ScoutLight is the same as the E2d TailCap.
It may change to HA rather than Black HA that it is shipping with at the moment.

There are four holes in the TailCap - two are threaded.

This photo shows Paul Kim of SireFore with an E2d attached to a quick detach clip:

The E2E-HA's have occassionally shipped with Z57 clickie's but only due to a mixup or the fact they needed to complete orders, if you order an E2E-HA the ods are it will come with a std. momentary t/c.

As for the E2D, yes, it is a clicker t/c and it has the easy attachment points for a lanyard.  However, I really question whether or not you will find the E2D being comfortable to wear under a shirt due to the t/c design & the strike bezel design?

Al, I'm glad you brought this up... I got my Scout Light and just thought that the machining was a little rough around those holes.  What is the purpose of those holes being threaded?

Thanks!

BTW, BrightFlashlights, Thanks for the Scout Light deal!  I ended up running a DSpeck E2C and Z32 on it and could not be happier!  I'll try to get some pics up this week...

I hope he doesn't read or post much here or he might get his fancy pancy Gucci bag carrying metrosexual feelings hurt...

O.K., I looked at the surefire site-  what is a scoutlight?  Is it one of the lights in the picture? Maybe the one that says "Shotshow" on it?

Here is what I need:
1) Gotta hang from a lanyard,  preferably vertically.  In my case behind a uniform shirt outside of body armor.
2) Clickie tailcap.  Had to buy one for my E2E and will never be without it again.
3) I use this light to look through cracks and holes in auto dashboards, body panels, etc., and it needs to be small enough that I can put the light up by my right eye to illuminate what my eye sees.  Think of looking through a 3/8" hole and trying to shine a light through it and look through it at the same time.  Not sure I am making sense here!

I never used the clip at all would rather have one of those rings with a hole like some of the lights in Size 15's picture.  I'll bet you guys can suggest something even better than what I had before.

Nice pic, Neil!!!   Not as good as the  pics of you with the babes at your work though!!!

Thanks guys,
dg.

The Scout Light is the top weaponlight in Size15s' picture, the smaller light with one thumb screw and E2D tailcap.

Edit for the hell of it.

The threads are there so you can screw something in - in the case of Paul Kim, he as a Brass? quick detach widget attached to it which then slots into the plastic thing clipped to his ID.
I believe they are used for pagers and cellphones etc.

Of course, you may screw in what you like. It's standard thread.
Like I say, ask Don McGizmo http://dmcleish.com/CPF/index.html
