Does anyone prefer the 6V Surefires (M95x) to the 9V(M96x)? I have a M2 so I really want to go with a M952 for bezel cross compatability. But it seems like every post I see says that 9V is the only way to go. The weight difference is marginal, so that is not a factor. A lot of places price the 6V and 9V pretty closely, so that is not an issue, either. So, 6V owners speak up, tell me I'll be OK going with the M952! Also, does anyone have a pic of a M952/951 next to a M2? It appears that a M952 is slightly larger even though they use the same bezel.
Thanks.

The difference in length is due to the battery/lamp isolating component -

Though 9v is certainly a nice performance upgrade the fact that you have the M2 is a worthy reason to stick with the M95x.  You would have bezel, lamp & tailcap compatability (as well as batteries).

To help you decide what will be best you should think about what the max. range is you need.  If you're wanting a reach greater than 50 yds. then you need to lean more towards the 9v setup.

I prefer the 6v Surefires.  They use less battereies and have parts compatibility with my hand helds.

I have some of the 120 lumen lamps for when they are needed- but usually I run with the 65lumen lamps.

I wish they would get off their a$$es and make some of those 65 lumen LED heads for the 6v systems....

The 6V lights were about al there was in the beginning, so we thought they were great.  Then along came the 9V Milleniums series and we had to have those instead [;)].

The 6V lights work fine in most situations, particularly indoors.  Plus they are a lot lighter if you go with the "Classic" series rather than the 952.

The 6V LED Bezel from SureFire is the KL5 bezel.
Currently it's being release as part of the L5 light.

I went with a 962C. Should arrive late next week.  I figure that the weight and price penalty is minimal. If I'm going to hang a light on the rail, it appears that one might as well go with a 9V. I think that the 962 gets the bezel out in front more so the beam will be less obstructed. I like mounting the VFG towards the rear of the rail, so the longer length of the 9V will be beneficial when using the SW02 tailcap. Besides, no one really stepped up to the plate to talk me into going with a 6V.
