Hello all, this is my first post in the group. and a new owner of an Oly arms AR.
My question is. and i've been searching the net for a few weeks on this and haven't found an answer,  I want to use my duty flashlight on my AR, it's a Stinger light. I cannot find any mount for it. Are the Surefires that much better than my Stinger? is that why there is no mount?
AS you know, it has 12,000 CP. which is more than some of the smaller Surefires, but about twice as big. I'm thinking thats ok about the size as i'm not going to be "humping any hills" (I hope) with it attached. I'm setting it up for a patrol rifle. I've tried one inch rings,  and light barrel is to big.
I just figure by using one light that i carry anyway. it'll  be one less thing to worry about as in batteries, recharging, or forgeting a piece of equipment at home or office.
Oh, and i do carry a Streamlight 20XP as my back-up light.
any ideas would be helpfull

You might want to check Countycomm.com for a solution. If you have a standard handguard on your rifle they have a replacement lower that has a spot to slide your stinger into. Its a little bulky but might fit your needs.

I'm not one to say 'no, you can't do that' but honestly, I think you'll grow tired of the extra weight & bulk.  I also don't think you should spend much money on a mount, first try a 30mm scope ring, it will work with some minor mods.

At some point in time you need to pick up a SF G2 Nitrolon or SF 6P to play with, I think you'll be amazed at the performance, price & size ratio.  Considering you would have this as a weapons mounted light you probably wouldn't burn batteries on a regular basis so at $2.50 per set you're getting a lot of 'bang for your buck' in my opinion.
