I was issued a Phantom warrior flashlight.  I used ot for 6 months with a lot of use and never had to change the batteries.  it is not a high intensity flashlight, but i could us it with my nods.  I recently was looking more into it, and When i flip the batteries it uses another little bulb that is on it.  I am guessing it is an infrared light, but i can see it red when i look at the light.  I cannot see the light it emmits but if i look directly into it I can see the little red glow.  I haven't tried it with the NODs yet because it is a recent discover i made.  lol.  Am I right in assuming it is IR  or would I not be able too see the red in the bulb?
Anyone have experience with it?  It is actually pretty cool.

Human eye's have differing sensitivity to IR spectum - you indeed may be seeing the higher end of the IR coming from the bulb.

I have seen some IR floods that glow a deep red.

Thanks,  After further reading in their website I found out it is the IR.  To activate it I just have to flip the batteries.
Thanks again.

I have the same light you have but with the extra high output lamp. It's the light to get if you want IR and LED in one package. There are many better flashlights if you need a brighter light. The thing I like is the adjustable brightness for the LED part.
