Does anyone know of a plate carrier that will accept soft armor. It needs to take 11x14 plates and 6x6 or 6x8 side plates.

What kind of soft armor are you looking for? military style that overlaps, or something to throw behind a plate?

Looking more military style like my old iba but lighter

I don't know if they ever get surplused, with or without soft armor, but I'm pretty happy with my IMTV/PC. Can't really complain about it.

This should probably get moved to >armory>tactical gear>

Well if that is what you're after, I can't help you. Most of what is being used around me is actually plate carriers and not body armor (more of what you're looking at). Stick a plate with a trauma pad or soft armor cut in the same shape as a plate and roll.

@JMV

You might want to consider asking a mod or site staff to move this topic over to the Tactical Gear subforum. Or just make a new topic there.

If you could include some more info and get this posted over in Tactical Gear you'll get a lot more help.

Maybe take a look at SKD's PIG plate carrier. It accepts military cut SAPI plates and will work as a PC only (that's how I use it at work), or you can buy their soft armor inserts as well for the plate bags and/or cummerbund. It has two types of side plate carriers - for use with or without the cummerbund soft armor inserts. Not cheap, but it's great quality and very comfortable.

But what about DAPS, groin and throat armor? Doesn't it need to accept those too? And which is it? 6x6 or 6x8 you are going to run?

Check out Shellback Tactical Banshee...you'll need the cummerbund for the 6x8s.

Sounds like you're looking for an Armor Carrier.

Plate carriers are designed for plates (and soft armor backers that are the same size and shape as the plated).

If you want overlapping soft armor panels like an IOTV, IBA, BALCS, etc... then you are looking for an armor carrier. Which at that point your carrier choices are determined by the cut off the soft armor.

ETA: What do you need this for? And do you already have the soft armor?
