Do these things ever loosen up?

I bought this to replace my VTAC because I was sick of the tail with Velcro setup.

So I bought this one but it doesn't slide smoothly at all.  Usually I have to keep tension on my neck and shoulder to get it to move.  And even then in order to tighten or loosen the last 4-5" of adjustment I have to use 2 hands.

I like the sling.  Seems well built.  I like the built in QD swivels.  But so far I'm thinking I made a mistake swapping my VTAC.

They get a little easier, but not much.  When they do they loosen up as you walk.  I've used both for almost ten years, the VTAC is a better every day sling.  I cut the cuff part off and live with the tail.  Has never bothered me.

Anyone know where to fing some 1" QD swivels for the VTAC?
