I just received a UBR today along with some Type 2 sling mount kits from Magpul because I want it to be ambidextrous. I removed the screws from the existing QD mounts but those darn things were in there so tight that I think they would have been impossible to remove without damaging something. I tried putting a sling in there an giving it a huge tug but they would not budge. In any case my goal wasn't to remove the exist ones but add the new ones to the opposite side. The problem was that the new ones were just as snug and so getting them in proved to be equally difficult. I ended up having to lube them up real good and then use a vice with quite a bit of torque to press them down in there. Is this normal?
Second question. I have a Magpul M-LOK QD sling mount and I notice that if I attach a Mapul QD sling swivel to it the swivel will only rotate maybe plus/minus 10 degrees and I am assuming that is normal. However, I also got a MS4 sling adapter which comes with an identical looking swivel on it. If I attach this one it rotates 360 degrees and depending on the angle will easily pop out if tugged on. Does this adapter have a defective swivel? Never mind, after inserting and removing it for a bit it has suddenly stopped doing this. |
