Why is so hard to find weight info on the Rainier Raptor Charging handle? I checked both Rainier Arms and AXTS websites and neither have the weight of the product posted in the SPECS tab.

It would have to be steel to weigh that much or have a massive steel catch installed.

is the raptor significantly better than the BCM/vltor model?

Yes, but the BCM is still a good charging handle.  Most my rifles run BCM's I've picked up on sale for ~$25.  One has a Raptor, I like it, but I'm not willing to pay $50 extra.

I'm right handed, if I was left handed I would probably pay it.

That's about it, in a nutshell, for folks who already have BCM charging handles. I am a lefty, so
I'll pay the extra for the Raptor.

Well, I haven't bought any Ambi BCM's, but for $20 more I would take the Raptor.  If you wait for the sales you can get the Raptor for the same price.  Last weekend DSGarms and Primary Arms both had the Raptor for $69.

I have been pinched numerous times by my BCM Gunfighter charging handles.

Never by my Raptors!

The Raptor is a great charging handle, I prefer that over the BCM that I have.

IMO I give a slight edge to the BCM cause its easier to push the CH back into position after locking the bolt back, and the BCM wears in faster/nicer.

I'll still keep my Raptor though.

I have an early one with steel latches. I just weighed it and it came to 2.4oz with some lube still on it. That should be about the max weight you can get for a 5.56 model.
